Laurie Lisonbee

 

Laurie earned a Master of Fine Arts in in Drawing and Painting from California State University Fullerton

and a BA in Art and Design from Brigham Young University, in Provo, UT. She is teaching drawing, painting

and design at Utah Valley University, Brigham Young University and at colleges and universities

in California. She has spent a lot of time traveling abroad in Germany, France and Mexico for research

opportunities. As a contemporary realist painter born in Riverside, CA, Laurie's artistic sensibility was early

formed amidst California's beaches, along with family drawing sessions at the kitchen table. She spent her

teen years in Utah and moved back to California to create and teach art. Laurie's paintings have been

shown in many states as well as in the Elmhurst Art Museum, Coos Art Museum, Springville Museum of

Art, Woodbury Art Museum, BYU Museum of Art, Palm Springs Desert Museum, and

LDS Church Museum of History & Art.
