Over 30 years of excellence. A Gallery Fine Art & Custom Framing

Jim Jacobs

Jim Jacobs sculptures graft together natural tree limbs and milled lumber, wooden tools and furniture, and

human hair. The intersections between the natural world and human productions fascinates Jacobs; "In one

sense, as evolution has shown, humans and their productions are clearly as much a part of the natural

world as any other life form. Our skyscrapers are as much a part of nature as the honeycomb of the be

and, in fact, replicate some analogous structural principles."

As a professor for 30 years at Weber State University, Jacobs has shown extensively in Utah, as well as

New York, Colorado, and New Jersey, including in multiple juried exhibitions. Originally from Philadelphia,

PA, Jacobs received his BFA from Jacksonville University and his MFA from East Carolina University.
