Brian Christensen

Brian Christensen's work ranges from formal outdoor public works to figurative and narrative sculptures. He

has a passion for materials producing work by traditional methods such as bronze casting and ceramics,

but also incorporates methods and materials such as steel fabrication and synthetic materials. His

sculptures go beyond the familiar to find the area between the conscious and subconscious. He uses the

human head and body, as well as common objects, to represent states of mind. By manipulating scale,

context and presentation, Brian encourages the viewer to build their own associations and reality with the

works.

Brian Christensen received his MFA from Washington University in Missouri, and his BFA from Brigham

Young University in Utah, where he is currently a faculty member. Brian’s artwork has been exhibited

extensively nationally and abroad.
